All that glitters is not gold

A large amount of gold has been found in Attock, Pakistan. Attock is towards the north of Pakistan. The gold weighs 2.8 million tolas (an amount of weight used in India)and is worth about 800 billion rupees. This discovery was confirmed by the Geological Survey of Pakistan after careful research. To discover means to make known or visible. The gold is in a 32-kilometer area in Punjab.

The government is working to confirm the value of the gold. When you confirm something you say or show that something is true. Experts from different companies like Nespak will help with this. They want to make sure the gold’s worth is accurate and prepare for its sale.

The government will sell the gold in an international auction. A auction is a sale in where things are sold to the person who offers the most money. They have made rules for the auction and created a committee to manage it. The rules will be approved by the Punjab government soon.

To stop people from stealing, the government has put security in place. Section 144, a special law, has been applied in the area to protect the gold mines. Apply here means to put to use especially for some purpose.

Gold is very valuable and used in jewellery and wealth saving. After the discovery, local and global gold prices have changed. In Pakistan, one tola (an amount of weight used in India) of gold now costs Rs277,900. Gold is still important for the world economy. The economy is how a country makes, and uses goods, to make money.

Do you think this will be good from Pakistan? Because remember, all that glitters is not gold.
